Oct 2, 2016 | by Major James Lloyd, MBA

Oakland, CA, August 01, 2016 — The Salvation Army of Alameda County, who provides social services without discrimination to all age groups, ethnic backgrounds, religious affiliations and sexual orientations in Alameda County, is proud to announce the new leadership of Major James & Beverly Lloyd as the Alameda County Coordinators as well as the former PG&E CEO, Peter Darbee who will be assuming the full position of Chairman of the Advisory Board.

On July 1, 2016, husband and wife duo, James & Beverley Lloyd, assumed command of the county when former Captain Dan Williams was called to serve at a new location. The Lloyds come from a long line of Salvationists; James is third generation and Beverley is fourth generation. James first served in the U.S. Army in the Gulf before falling in love with Beverley and finding his calling to the Salvation Army. Together they have served the Salvation Army across the United States for over 25 years.

On June 21, 2016, Peter Darbee, who previously served as Co-Chairman of the Advisory Board, assumed the role of Chairman of the Advisory Board in full. Darbee is the former Chairman and CEO of PG&E Corporation. Prior to that, Darbee served as CFO of PG&E, Vice President and the CFO of Advanced Fibre Communications Inc. and Vice President and CFO of Pacific Bell. Darbee earned a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Dartmouth College and an M.B.A. from the Amos Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth.

About The Salvation Army
The Salvation Army, established in London in 1865, has been supporting those in need in His name without discrimination for more than 135 years in the United States. About 30 million Americans receive assistance from The Salvation Army each year through a range of social services: food for the hungry, relief for disaster victims, assistance for the disabled, outreach to the elderly and ill, clothing and shelter to the homeless, and opportunities for underprivileged children. 82 cents of every dollar donated to The Salvation Army is used to support those services in 5,000 communities nationwide. The Salvation Army tracks the level of need across the country with the Human Needs Index (HumanNeedsIndex.org). For more information, go to alamedasalarmy.org or call (510) 383-9300.
